ENTM's 4th Elimination

Happy New Year everyone!

There was some confusion around the last task. I looked back at it, and I guess it is a bit of a puzzle. But all the pieces are there that are needed to put the task together. It was a 2 part task, of a make-over, and runway. 3 out of 5 of the contestants missed the runway part.

Every model misreads a task in their career, but it is not without repercussion.

The judges and I have unanimously decided that the task winner this week is....

MMAlovergirl!
Congratulations! Your second task win! Your scenery will be featured on MDM.

Second place:

Jelizeveta123
If the other contestants had followed the task properly, you may have been lower down, so please take a look at all the feedback, and continue to improve.

The Bottom Three

In no particular order:

x-x-perfect-x-x
Iovanca
Rockinellee

You three have been placed here because your sceneries failed to encompass the full task.

X-x-perfect-x-x: I understand that you did a redo of the task, but unfortunately it does not count. Re-dos are only allowed with permission, before any judging has started. Therefore we can only go off of your original scenery. Your scenery took the simple approach, but was it too simple?

Iovanca: You did understand that the task was a runway, but what were you selling? Roses? That was the part of the task you lacked. Your scenery did not look like a runway, and we could not see what you were selling.

Rockinellee: Despite your misreading of the task, all the judges thought you made a stunning beauty shoot. We almost forgot that that wasn't the task. Almost.

Rockinellee you are SAFE.
Your misread was a mistake, and you did excellently with what you thought the task was. Please do not make that mistake again.

Iovanca you are SAFE.
Modeling is almost always about selling something. The first line of the task said it's not about sitting there and looking pretty, yet that's exactly what you did! The judges have been disappointed with your sceneries the last 2 tasks. You need to step up your game if you're in it to win it.

x-x-perfect-x-x you are ELIMINATED.
We could see that you were improving in the competition, but this week was just too big of a step down. You will be missed. I hope that you have had a valuable experience in this competition.

Now we have the top four.
Only three will go on to travel.
Keep your eyes open for the next task.

Resort 2012 pt. 1

Hello again fellow fashion fanatics, remember me? As Kylie stated about a week ago, I'm one of the three new writers for Editorialized! This will be my 'first' post again as I've been in Spain ever since it was made official here on the blog. On the other hand I'm not so new, for I've been on this blog before, just under another name which I bet you're aware of. o; Anyhow! I just wanted to say it's amazing to be back again! On with the post:

Resort 2012
From Left To Right: 10 Crosby Derek Lam, Acne, Moschino

As we've all noticed, the resort collections of all the labels we love has practically been showed now, & I know I can count this season's resort collections as one of my absolute favorites! Thereby, I decided to create a three-parted segment about it, starting up with this part one, & with part two & three to come. I decided to do this because it'd literally be impossible to make room for all the great fashion of this season in one post!

For part one, I decided to look deeper into a trend which has been seen commonly recently but which aren't that new; the retro look. Above you can see three designers spotting this look on the runway. Moschino & Derek Lam has both created more nude looks color-wise, but with clear cuttings from the late 50's-60's era. Rosella Jardini aimed for the preppy school-girl look in her collection, meanwhile Derek tried out a bit more vulgar with influences from the 70's as well. The team at Acne also took inspiration from the early 70's, but instead used bright colors such as orange & blue. If you haven't seen the full collections yet, click at the names of them below the picture above.

Let's talk graphics-SFW Magazines

While SFW has released some amazing couture lines, I have to admit that my guilty pleasure is seeing all the magazines!

Many have just amazing graphics! Just by looking at them you can see how much effort was put into them!
The 2 magazines who's graphics stood out the most to me were Runway's and Forever Chic's.

I really loved Runway's Perfume editorials:
 They're just adorable, and flawless!

As For Forever Chic, these are the standouts to me:
I love the nautical mixed with all the splashes of color!
I love the spring feel to this, and the color of the skirt in contrast to the background.
I really love this dress and the pose is so cute!

However there were some magazines that were not up to par.

Cyanide was one of these to me. The graphics were on the simple side and lacked some of the realism and depth that the 2 magazines above brought to the table.

A couple of the poses were simple like this
and the hair seemed very stiff.
Overall I just wasn't very impressed with the graphics.

And now on to what I see to be the greatest disappointment: Red Lips Magazine

There is just so many things wrong with this cover image.
First of all the body is obviously a picture and not a graphic!
Secondly the covergirlis suposed to be me (liajm) and looks nothing like me!
A big rule in modeling is not to change your skin tone-so what is up with this cover!

I think the cover is the worst part, because honestly there are some nice parts to it.
I liked the beauty segment and some of the graphic are pretty cute:

UPDATE: if you read the last page of Red Lips Magazine there is an apology in which it states that her computer broke down and she had to make the whole magazine in ONE DAY. Wow that really puts things into perspective...

Anyways, what did you think of the SFW Magazines?

Spoiler (:
