Bag Shopping in the City

Another week... another shopping trip. I love shopping, looking at clothes and picking out amazing pieces. I've been in Melbourne for the past couple of days, but I only got some real shopping done today.

One of my most favourite stores is Sportsgirl. If you come to Australia I definitely recommend you go there, it's so bright and colourful plus it's clothes are amazing! I can list a bunch of other shops that sell great clothes at some not to expensive prices, but this post is about Sportsgirl. :P

If you read this post by Noelle you'd know that I was on the hunt for a handbag for my overseas trip that is coming up in just a couple of weeks! It needed to be big enough to fit my camera, wallet, ipod, phone etc. as well as a few other things. Plus it needed to be gorgeous, because, that's in the criteria for any bag, is it not? So today I walked into Sportsgirl with just my wallet (plus dad of course because I didn't have enough money :D) and came out with not one, but two bags.

$60AUD from Sportsgirl

Sorry for the bad picture. But I love it! It's a bit plain, but I didn't want anything to ostentatious. I especially love how it feels, is that weird? I love soft bags and I hate those really cheap plasticy ones.

$40AUD from Sportsgirl

These are really useful bags, you just chuck your sports gear in it if you have PE, or take it for overnight trips. I managed to convince dad that I needed it as a carry-on bag for the plane. My sister has had a purple one for a while now and would never let me borrow it, which sucked, so I have been wanting this bag for a while now.

So what do you think? What does your ideal bag look like, or come from? I would have rathered a Chanel... but yeah... :D

P.s I logged into the beauty parlour and found... this?

Hmm.. not quite sure what to think of it. I knew that updated lips and noses would be coming because they did the eyes and hair... but it looks so.. weird! :o Some of the noses are eh, but the lips are pretty good. Although I don't like the lip gloss as much as I used to.

A Browny Day

Oooh I'm loving this leopard print at the moment and those colours!

I'm really into browns currently. I was going to begin my day by putting my medoll into some brown lipstick. Unfortunately though as I go to the Dot shop I find out that there are all these bright and fluro-like colours in store. Which left me a bit depressed, because how could I begin my brobession (does that make sense?) with no brown lipstick!

In the end though, I didn't even end up wearing anything remotely brown, which just goes to show that when I have an outfit idea, I tend to change it a lot.

Hmmm... I guess it just wasn't going to be a brown day today.

P.s, did anyone notice the new banners? Should we have the writer's signatures at the top or bottom?

Distressed Shorts

Hey!

Sorry for no posts for the past few days, but Lia has been posing some really great tutorials, hasn't she?

Anyways, today I went shopping. I'm going to this school trip on Monday & Tuesday. It's for this class I'm in, and as a reward everyone who did all their work and passed gets to go on this awesome trip. But for this trip the teachers have decided to get strict and say that we are not allowed to wear singlets with shoe-string straps or shorts shorter than mid thigh.

Too bad all my shorts are, well, short.

So, today I went on the hunt for mid-thigh shorts!

In the end I found these (in our very limited shopping plaza) in the shop Cotton On. I love Cotton On, it has some really cute clothes and is fairly inexpensive.

So I got these shorts (at least I think it is these). I personally really love the whole distressed denim look. It makes you look so much more casual, and looks great with a singlet (in summer anyway :P). The shorts go about three centimeters above my knee so hopefully the teachers will approve!

But that's not where my story ends. After I got home I dumped my bags on the couch. My sister then got out the shorts and showed my dad. He took one look at them and to me that he was very "disappointed" in me for buying shorts with rips in them and he thought that I should know what is new and old!

Hahah does anyone else out there have a dad (or mum!) that has no sense of fashion whatsoever? Tell in comments :)

Maths And Fashion? An Odd Combination...

School can be such a bore, especially on Tuesdays, which just so happen to be the worst day of the week for me. Let's see, double English in the morning (as much as English can be fun, it just isn't at the moment), then double Sport (this is usually the highlight of my day, but we are playing tennis at the moment, and we don't even get paired with our friends) and then lastly double maths.

Yay.

So how is this fashion related?

Well you see, I have this theory. It may not stand up in maths, and Mr. Maths teacher may just laugh in my face and tell me to get back to working out the percentage profit of something that I really don't care about.. but this is it:

Good looking school uniforms = Happy school kid

Ground breaking, no?

Has anyone noticed, that in all the TV shows (Gossip Girl etc), that they either have an awesome school uniform or none at all? And that everyday something interesting, exciting or incredible happens to these people?

My school uniform is just the basic white collard shirt and a pair of blue shorts (in summer), and then these hideous polar-fleeced jumpers that make you look like you have a Homer Simpson belly in winter. It's so bland!

Don't you just love GG fashion?

Anyways, I don't think I'll  be convincing anyone anytime soon that we need to change uniforms (we just went from green jumpers to blue, radical change, right? *rolls eyes*), but oh well, a girl can dream. I'll just wait for University where I'll wear casual every day.

So, what do you think of my theory? I mean, it seems plausible, right? :P

P.s, if you scroll down to the bottom of the  blog you will notice we are now media affiliates with Medoll Memories, which is owned by Noelle_Page (one of our writers) and Isabella.Arci, yay!

Fashion Diaries By Kylie

Hey guys, new segment by me! Anyways, Fashion Diaries by Kylie will basically follow me through my day and all the encounters I have with fashion, beauty, modeling, whatever in both real life and stardoll. Sometimes I may get off topic, but I hope you don't mind. ;)

Friday morning, and I wake up with a start as my alarm clock wakes me up at precisely 6.02am. It's Friday and I have sport today in the afternoon, so I choose to wear my contacts instead of glasses. I'm still new to the whole "sticking your finger in your eye" thing, so I wake up half an hour earlier than usual so that I have plenty of time. After dropping them on the ground twice I manage to get them in.

First job of the day done.

Now, to make myself look presentable. My hair is a curly, frizzy mess (I should post some pictures one day :P), and my tan lines are clearly visible. The thing with wearing glasses for the last three years through sun, rain and snow is that whenever I get sunburnt I always get a massive line around my eyes. Imagine a bright red face, and then two pale circles around the eyes and then two horizontal lines across the face where the glasses handles (?, what are those things called) have been. Very attractive.

So I use a very careful makeup plan.

First step, sunscreen, it's summer and I don't plan on getting skin cancer any time soon.

Next step, primer. I use Napoleon Perdis. It's meant to be some shield between my face and my makeup, plus it helps it stay on longer.Thirdly, I apply foundation! I love foundation, and I think I may be addicted. It just feels so good on my skin, and I just feel bare when I don't put it on.  I use Maybelline Dream Liqid Mousse in "Nude".

And lastly, mascara! I am really uncoordinated at apply mascara, especially on my left eye. I always must have tissues around when I apply it to get any mascara that seem to have, ermm..., simply missed my eye. ;D

So there you have it, my pre-school makeup ritual. What's yours?

P.s, what do you think of this segment?
