Skinny Legs & Lipstick Mag

Lipstick magazine was released today and it sparked a few peoples interests about how Mel (bluegreen86) seems to be always on the cover of our favourite magazines. Especially the Christmas issues (think Eternity and D).

Although I'm sure Mel is a great covergirl, can we please see someone different?

Anyways, I love the issue, great graphics and all. I sort of skipped passed most of the articles to be honest though as none of them stood out to me.

But I just wanted to point this out; is it just me or are those legs really unnaturally skinny??

I think the graphic designer was trying to make it look more realistic by adding that extra line on the leg, but all it did was make the bone stick out heaps, which really doesn't look good.

What do you think?

Style Wars: Devie44 vs. Hunnigall

Haven't done one of these in a while, have I?

This Style Wars features Devie44 and Hunnigall. I have to admit I am slightly obsessed with Alice, she has such amazing style! But I don't know, Devie44's outfit could give her a run for her money...

Who do you think rocks the Rapunzel hair best?

Posing tutorials?

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in me doing  posing tutorials? (for stardoll sceneries)

Just answer in this poll:

The Lanvin Amalia; A Little Purple Wonder

I love purple, it's my favourite colour (except for violet and all those shades, blehh). So when I saw this bag it was like... love? Should I be declaring love for a handbag here even if it is Lanvin? It's Lanvin so I must be allowed to!

I really love that shade of purple, and the texture looks so soft and smooth! Love, love, love! I am a sucker for an bag that has little details on it like on the strap of this one.

Especially in the outfit above! I love how the bag brings out that small bit of purple in the top.

What do you think, hit or miss?

Underwater Photography and Modeling

I've recently become really interested in all things underwater. Underwater is almost like a different world. In modeling it's very different because you're practically weightless. Gravity is different, and it can really turn out quite beautiful when a model uses that to their advantage.

I found this site that features underwater photography, and I was really quite stunned by how clever and breathtaking it was. You can visit the site at http://elenakalis.carbonmade.com/

Here are my top 5 pictures from the site:

This is my favorite picture. I really feel that this picture shows how much of a different world the sea (or a pool) can be. However I also really like this shoot because it seems high fashion to me. It seems really hard to believe that this picture is underwater (after all she doesn't look wet), but that's some of the beauty of it (:

This picture is Alice though the looking glass inspired. I think this picture is just so clever! The picture has been turned upside down so that her feet are actually at the top of the water. This is what i mean by using the lack of gravity to a models advantage [:

This picture just looks so graceful, and I'm not gunna lie, it reminded me of Victoria from Twilight. The red hair and the oh so pale completion just screamed vampire to me.

This is another example of using the lack of gravity to your advantage. I also really love the reflection on the top of the water, and how the sunlight comes in a makes patterns everywhere.

This picture just seemed so magical! The sparkling lights and the shades just seemed so perfect!

Well I was quite inspired by these pictures, and so I attempted to make an underwater scenery (: here it is:

So what do you think of underwater modeling and photography? What about these pictures (and i guess my scenery) in particular?

Maths And Fashion? An Odd Combination...

School can be such a bore, especially on Tuesdays, which just so happen to be the worst day of the week for me. Let's see, double English in the morning (as much as English can be fun, it just isn't at the moment), then double Sport (this is usually the highlight of my day, but we are playing tennis at the moment, and we don't even get paired with our friends) and then lastly double maths.

Yay.

So how is this fashion related?

Well you see, I have this theory. It may not stand up in maths, and Mr. Maths teacher may just laugh in my face and tell me to get back to working out the percentage profit of something that I really don't care about.. but this is it:

Good looking school uniforms = Happy school kid

Ground breaking, no?

Has anyone noticed, that in all the TV shows (Gossip Girl etc), that they either have an awesome school uniform or none at all? And that everyday something interesting, exciting or incredible happens to these people?

My school uniform is just the basic white collard shirt and a pair of blue shorts (in summer), and then these hideous polar-fleeced jumpers that make you look like you have a Homer Simpson belly in winter. It's so bland!

Don't you just love GG fashion?

Anyways, I don't think I'll  be convincing anyone anytime soon that we need to change uniforms (we just went from green jumpers to blue, radical change, right? *rolls eyes*), but oh well, a girl can dream. I'll just wait for University where I'll wear casual every day.

So, what do you think of my theory? I mean, it seems plausible, right? :P

P.s, if you scroll down to the bottom of the  blog you will notice we are now media affiliates with Medoll Memories, which is owned by Noelle_Page (one of our writers) and Isabella.Arci, yay!

Layered Belts, Anyone?

Wow, she's got style!

Everyday when I log on, after I have replied and checked to my messages, read the latest blog posts and made sure that all my homework is done, I go and have a browse through stardoll at some amazing medolls. There are seriously so many talented people out there!

One girl I found goes by the username 'Dasha_Rock', and she looks so fierce! Her medoll is stunning and her outfit is so casual, yet so chic. It has the perfect balance. I am loving the layered belts!

So, what do you think?

Channel Some Chanel For Your Winter Makeup Look!

Oh, yum. I just saw Chanel's latest beauty campaign, and I love it! Well technically I love everything by Chanel; and this is not an exception.

Those two above are my favourites, I just the glossiness of the lips, that red is so goregous, although maybe just a bit to ostentatious for me, and that second one "Inimitable Intense", well, let's just say if the closest Chanel store wasn't four hours away I would absolutely be trying it out.

Fashion Diaries By Kylie

Hey guys, new segment by me! Anyways, Fashion Diaries by Kylie will basically follow me through my day and all the encounters I have with fashion, beauty, modeling, whatever in both real life and stardoll. Sometimes I may get off topic, but I hope you don't mind. ;)

Friday morning, and I wake up with a start as my alarm clock wakes me up at precisely 6.02am. It's Friday and I have sport today in the afternoon, so I choose to wear my contacts instead of glasses. I'm still new to the whole "sticking your finger in your eye" thing, so I wake up half an hour earlier than usual so that I have plenty of time. After dropping them on the ground twice I manage to get them in.

First job of the day done.

Now, to make myself look presentable. My hair is a curly, frizzy mess (I should post some pictures one day :P), and my tan lines are clearly visible. The thing with wearing glasses for the last three years through sun, rain and snow is that whenever I get sunburnt I always get a massive line around my eyes. Imagine a bright red face, and then two pale circles around the eyes and then two horizontal lines across the face where the glasses handles (?, what are those things called) have been. Very attractive.

So I use a very careful makeup plan.

First step, sunscreen, it's summer and I don't plan on getting skin cancer any time soon.

Next step, primer. I use Napoleon Perdis. It's meant to be some shield between my face and my makeup, plus it helps it stay on longer.Thirdly, I apply foundation! I love foundation, and I think I may be addicted. It just feels so good on my skin, and I just feel bare when I don't put it on.  I use Maybelline Dream Liqid Mousse in "Nude".

And lastly, mascara! I am really uncoordinated at apply mascara, especially on my left eye. I always must have tissues around when I apply it to get any mascara that seem to have, ermm..., simply missed my eye. ;D

So there you have it, my pre-school makeup ritual. What's yours?

P.s, what do you think of this segment?

Nothing but Fash

Three years in Stardoll.... and I have to have some more.

Fashion pictures that is.

I have seen tons of sceneries, albums and blog photos of graphics made, crafted and uploaded by our fellow Stardollians throughout my Stardoll life.

But if I can just say, there were very few that actually made a mark on the deepest abyss of my subconscious.

...and I ought to share some of them with you, our dear readers, today.

Less is (definitely) more for this Snapshot of Dina_da_Dino. It's simple, clean and straighforward. Just as a true classic should be.

I have known Style_Magazine even before she became The Style_Magazine.
If I'm not mistaken, I was her second (or third) Covergirl.

Something about The Avian Noir haunts me even until now.

She's done this back during the days when the plain and ordinary would dress up their medolls with a lot of baby pinks, baby blues and all the other baby hues that you can concoct in your mind and put their medolls against flowery backgrounds.

Through this scenery, Style was able to convey the message that she is different.

...and a lot of people heard that message. Loud and clear.

Need I say more?

This Barbie scenery is divine, supreme and unparalleled.

Isabella.Arci never fails to amaze. And she never will.

The next image I will share with all of you created the loudest uproar and controversy amongst the Stardoll blogs roughly about two years ago.

The graphic was a gift from one of my dearest friends who happened to be a contributor at medollmemoires.blogspot.com back at that time.

Some people said it was offensive while others said that it's a brave amazing piece of pixelized art.

I say it's Nothing but pure Fashion.

Behold.

Vittorio, wherever you are.... you are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

What's Black And White And Red All Over?

... The new LE of course!

Sorry for not posting for a couple days, but I have had way to much homework, an english speech, a health assignment, a story to write and a logbook to make about the last camp I went on. Plus in my spare time I have been practicing my graphics with Hunnigall's new blog.

Anyways, because I live in Australia, and I got home late tonight, I missed out on all the good LE! I know, sucks to be me, I am not to bothered though, I am just looking forward to seeing everyones outfits!

If you are wearing any of the newest LE post your username in the comments and I'll come by your suite and have a look! If you're outfit is good enough, it'll get featured on the blog!

Have a good week, :P

Scenery Feature: .naima

When looking through aspiring models on stardoll's sceneries I came across .naima's sceneries. I thought they were quite different than any sceneries I had every seen and imedeatly liked them. The first scenery just seems so mysterious and comical at the same time. It's like she's creeping somewhere. I found the other two sceneries interesting because it was a different kind of posing that I was used to seeing. It keept the original background, while making the scenery completely different at the same time!

Lets just say, I was impressed. What about you?

THE REVIEW: Lieve By Lolita

Lieve By Lolita [Miss_LolitaF] made it's debut today (can someone tell me what "Lieve" means?), and it seems these days people are making designs left, right and center! When I first heard about Lieve I had no idea it was going to be stardesign and assumed that it might be a collection for Stardoll Fashion Week, but obviously I was wrong.

Her first design is titled "Lilac Roses", and well, I'm not impressed. I'm sure that a lot of people like it and that she put lots of effort into it, but personally I don't like it. As much as I love purple, I hate that shade of it.

Do you, or have you, plan on buying anything?

Personality and modeling?

So, mostly everyone thinks of a model being jaw-dropping gorgeous, tall, rare, right proportions, strong figure, and just beautiful on the outside, and true, models are chosen for their beauty, their elegance, their ability to show off their strong features, such as their long legs, or perhaps a log neck. For example, Ann, a girl in ANTM's cycle 15, is super-long, thin, and rare to find out of the millions of models in the fashion industry. Reportedly, designers WOULD book her because of her rarity, even if she lacks personality (which she evidently shows all throughout the series) and that's what I am here to talk about.

Personality is to be proved a very important factor in a model, it can be shown in a model's walk, in her talk, in her photo-shoots, in her go-sees, and even her day-to-day activities. Designers usually look for girls who possess not only the strength in walk, and the poise, but also personality, sometimes, the designer wants the model's personality to shine during the fashion show. Personality makes a model or breaks one. When looking for models for any online based magazine, I often not only look at the features the medoll possesses, but also look for any hints of her personality in the rooms she designs, or in her presentation, because I am not looking for the most loved medolls out there, nor am I looking for the most popular ones either, I am looking for - even if the medoll is the least popular on stardoll - a medoll that can represent the magazine the best he/she can possibly.

On the last note I covered above, I would like to clarify that the model is here for the designer/ magazine's image, and without a fitting personality how can any good praise come to the certain designer or magazine's editor-in-chief? Personality is not only good on the runway, but also for photo-shoots, because when you have to do a certain photo-shoot, you need to keep a certain amount of personality for an amazing shoot, sometimes the photos are amazing because the model is naturally beautiful, but for an outstanding photo personality has to be clearly shown.

That is why in Vanity Models (my modeling club) I dont only focus on how well they make photo-shoots, but also how they talk to designers, how well they do their jobs and show personality. Furthermore, they also had to show some sort of personality to the judges, to show how well they can show their personality.

It's Here!

Ohmygosh. *faints*

The Valentino Hot Buys dress is here, and it well, leaves a bit to be desired. When I saw the Hotbuys spoiler, I instantly thought, I want that! Then when I saw it in the Starplaza, I was like "Eh."

I absolutely adore the real life version, I want it my wardrobe! Valentino has always been a favourite of my mine, and I loved their latest collection.

Thanks to Hots Buys Addicted. ^^

Stardoll version. ^^

The Stardoll dress though is not my favourite. I really wish it were better because I love it so much. I was expecting something better, maybe if they made the skirt more transparent like in the original? Nonetheless, I still bought it, these days 14sd isn't to bad for a dress.

What do you think?

What's Black And White And Lace All Over?

Okay, maybe not completely lace,  but anyways, look at this stunning shoot!

Like, woah. I love this and how the black and white contrast. Especially that last one, and how they just show the silhouette. I knew when I saw it that I just had to share it with you.

See more pictures here.

The model is Cameron Russell and it is shot by Ben Hassett.
