Project Runway - Irina Shabayeva

Heyy-yo,
I am a huge project runway fan, and that is a huge understatement for my love towards this show, much like ANTM, this show has suspense, has the joy, the bitter fights, the arguments that we all sometimes enjoy watching, and of course the ''OMG THAT BITCH!'' moments that we have.

So, one of - in my opinion - the best seasons Project runway has ever produced is season 6, where was filmed in California rather than shooting it back at New York. Some of the designers who were the top three Carol Hannah (has a site for her collections however has not designed since Fall/Winter 2009, Althea Harper (also has a site, she is the one that made a spring/summer 2011 collection out of the three I am talking about) and last but not least Irina Shabayeva the winner of Project Runway season 6 and the as they used to call her ''meana irina''.

Mean or not mean, Irina made such a statement all throughout the season, whether she made something hideous that the judges loved or something totally fabulous that was hard NOT to love, Irina captured the hearts, minds and feeling all throughout the season and I believe until now. Here are some of Irina's old pictures during the cycle.

The picture on top is a picture of on of Irina's greatest designs in project runway a few years back, and that was just the beginning, and that was just to show how much talent she had with factors that kept her from giving them a WOW factor. Remembering that they usually had a day or two to complete a look that needed precision and care, and of course limited resources such as 100 dollar budget for fabrics and other jewelry or whatever they needed from MOOD. Of course, knowing what she could do with little resources looked ultra fabulous then what do you think her looks would be like if they had the time, the resources and the care needed to produce?

Want to guess how much Irina is actually talented?

Think again,

How about I just show you?

These are simply four of the various and diverse looks of Irina's Fall 2010 collection which of course and evidently had a connection between all the looks because of her inspiration, but it also had that WOW factor that made you look not once, nor twice but three times, and if possible in all angles you could possibly look at.

I absolutely adore the last outfit, the ending of the show, because it isn't a huge dress that is a show-stopper, yet its one of those gorgeously detailed outfits that make you go ''Why is she not on STYLE.com?!?! She is a true fashion genius!''

What do you think?

P.S: Sorry Kylie for using the old banner D: I didn't save my new banner so :D Send it to me again when you read this pleasee :D

Tyler's Top.... Models?

What's this? Tylerisbold presents a brand new modeling agency, Tyler's Top Models, which helps aspiring models get to the top.

Editorialized was lucky enough to get an exclusive interview with Tyler himself, read on to see what it's all about!

Kylie: Hey Tyler! So as I’m sure a lot of people are wondering, what is Tyler up to next?

Tyler: Many different people know that I am on a press tour for Tyler's Top Trends. My blog means very much to me and I am excited to announce that I am expanding the brand, so to speak. Tyler's Top Models is set to launch this Thursday. It will be something new and something trendy (no pun intended).

Sounds super exciting! What made you begin Tyler’s Top Models?

It's nothing too special, but it's different... I wanted to start the modeling agency because I really wanted to give other people a chance to fulfill their Stardoll dreams. We have been seeing a lot of the same models in magazines lately and it is getting sad. Boring even. My agency is going to help aspiring models make it in this die hard industry. With my power and my existence, once you are signed with my agency - you will instantly be a top model.

Will this be a very exclusive agency? Will it be hard for models to get signed with it?

Lets put it this way. If you get signed with the agency, it is going to be an exclusive journey that will be made public. What goes on behind-the-scenes will be private obviously - but the models capabilities will be documented. This is an elite modeling agency, with that being said, yes it will be very hard to get in.

Ahh, well there is going to be some very lucky girls. Will you be hand picking models or will they have to apply to get in?

Both. If we discover you, we discover you. If you apply to become a model, of course my staff and I will be strict about if your application is valid or not. If you have "it', you have it!

What plans do you have it? Any competitions?

Competitions will come in the near future, but the agency is mainly a base for models to actually get featured in magazines and promotional photos. Like I said, if you work for my agency, then you are sure to get work as a model.

Do you think it will compare to other modeling agencies and clubs like Vanity Models and MelsModels?

I know it will. It is not a competition, it is not based off of one I should say. That's what sets it apart from traditional modeling competitions.

Well, it sounds very interesting! Thanks for the interview and I’m sure everyone at Editorialized wishes you the best of luck!

Thank you! I am pleased to hear the interest in my latest project. I love this blog by the way and I am proud to announce that I am donating 300 Stardollars to you, just for the blog. You can use it on anything, whether it be a competition or a giveaway!

-----

Well it seems as though we'll be planning another competition in the future! Thanks again!

Cobweb Dress

Fashion Designers turn to so many things for inspiration.

Inspiration can however come in the most unexpected time, way or even through the most outrageous form.

The swaying of the leaves of the trees, the bumper of a vintage automobile, the pattern on a butterfly's wings or even... cobwebs.

'Cobweb' is a design technique where you have to 'deconstruct' a fabric by literally disengaging the weaves through 'fraying'. Once you have a spider-web-like looking fabric, you can now create a whole new masterpiece out of it.

Philippine-based designer Rajo Laurel is bringing back this technique (which apparently was widely popular in the 80's when deconstruction was all the rage) and it seems like he is succeeding as his cobweb dress landed on the covers of WWD (Women's Wear Daily).

I haven't seen one dress of this sort on sale on my recent shopping trip but the dress (or the fabric for that matter) seems really interesting for me.

I wonder how long would it last considering that it basically has undergone a lot stress and the fabric's fibers are just barely clinging unto each other.

But in any case, I am in awe of how limitless the possibilities are when it comes to fashion... or creating something beautiful if I may say.

I will be keeping an eye for that dress on all my trips to ther malls and I will update you once I get my hands on one.

How about you? If given a chance, will you get one for yourself or this isn't your style at all?

ciao!

Project Overload!

It seems as if it doesn't go one day without a new project in Dollywood going on. Day after day, new magazines, couture brands and other projects get founded, released and unfortunately also called off. But as for this post, I'd like to present to you, two yet not very controversial projects, one newly found, and one newly released, I present to you;
Lisa Couture, owned and founded by
Monster Magazine, owned and founded by AbiiBabeh..x & Wooldoor, has just released it's debut issue! And what a debut, with it's new thinking magazine editing and impressive graphics, I got very impressed while scrolling through it. One very interesting thing about it, is that for the very first time in Stardoll history, they've interviewed an active SD Real Celeb! Very kool move, if you ask me.

What do you think about these two projects?

Magazine Mania!

Just a reminder everyone, if you would like to enter the scenery competition where could win $100sd and a modeling feature in RAGE magazine, quickly get your entries in because I'm putting the poll up either tomorrow or Monday.

Anyways, another thing I'd like to mention is that RAGE magazine got released! Go have a look because ALOT of effort went into it. :P

Vanity Magazine is going for the back to school theme. Although as far as I know the only people heading back to school are people from Australia, otherwise everyone else in Europe and the USA are already at school.

is having a Valentines Day themed issue! The spoiler looks pretty good but I've never been a fan of those lips.

Lipstick Magazine is heading out of space this issue! I'm not to fond of the graphics for the spoiler, but I'm excited to see what they do!

And Distinct magazine released a spoiler as well. It doesn't really give away much about the theme, but I do like how they did the writing in the smoke.

Which magazine are you most excited about?

P.s we're getting closer and closer to 100 followers!!!

Bag Shopping in the City

Another week... another shopping trip. I love shopping, looking at clothes and picking out amazing pieces. I've been in Melbourne for the past couple of days, but I only got some real shopping done today.

One of my most favourite stores is Sportsgirl. If you come to Australia I definitely recommend you go there, it's so bright and colourful plus it's clothes are amazing! I can list a bunch of other shops that sell great clothes at some not to expensive prices, but this post is about Sportsgirl. :P

If you read this post by Noelle you'd know that I was on the hunt for a handbag for my overseas trip that is coming up in just a couple of weeks! It needed to be big enough to fit my camera, wallet, ipod, phone etc. as well as a few other things. Plus it needed to be gorgeous, because, that's in the criteria for any bag, is it not? So today I walked into Sportsgirl with just my wallet (plus dad of course because I didn't have enough money :D) and came out with not one, but two bags.

$60AUD from Sportsgirl

Sorry for the bad picture. But I love it! It's a bit plain, but I didn't want anything to ostentatious. I especially love how it feels, is that weird? I love soft bags and I hate those really cheap plasticy ones.

$40AUD from Sportsgirl

These are really useful bags, you just chuck your sports gear in it if you have PE, or take it for overnight trips. I managed to convince dad that I needed it as a carry-on bag for the plane. My sister has had a purple one for a while now and would never let me borrow it, which sucked, so I have been wanting this bag for a while now.

So what do you think? What does your ideal bag look like, or come from? I would have rathered a Chanel... but yeah... :D

P.s I logged into the beauty parlour and found... this?

Hmm.. not quite sure what to think of it. I knew that updated lips and noses would be coming because they did the eyes and hair... but it looks so.. weird! :o Some of the noses are eh, but the lips are pretty good. Although I don't like the lip gloss as much as I used to.

Sceney Feature: Sary.Babyfayce

So this is a scenery from MTM, in which the task was to create a scenery inspired by a black and white photo or film, and then turn it black and white! When I saw this scenery I was absolutely blown away!

It's just stunning! I can feel the motion, and it's just so mysterious!
Now there are some technical errors: the elbow is too sharp, and I would have had the right foot be farther back to get the running feeling. But besides those minor detail I ADORE this scenery, and I think the black and white just makes it all the more better.

Do you agree with me?

Now That's Fierce!

Fierce Magazine has released one of the most interesting, yet epic, spoilers in the magazine history of Stardoll.com, which I'm aware of anyway. What you see above is exactly what I'm talking about. Pretty empty, yet pretty genius. It looks so luxurious with the lion C, and of course, it looks so Fierce. It seems as if this issue is gonna get big, really big. Are you ready for it?

Competition Time!

Unless you have been living under a rock or something, you'll know about Lia's amazing tutorials that we are so lucky to have on this blog! Look just below the blog header and you'll notice that I've made a new page called "Lia's Scenery Tutorials" which is just a page listing them all so you can find them easily!

So when Noelle asked me a couple weeks ago about having a scenery competition, of course I said yes!

So the prizes?

100sd generously donated by Noelle_Page (if you are non-ss and can't use the starbazaar you will get 100sd worth of gifts).

And to be a model in the next issue of RAGE magazine.

What do I have to do?

Simply make a scenery inspired by these pictures.

Interpret these anyway you like. It could be a scenery with two people, or a scenery about denim or black and white! Completely up to you!

A pose is always nice, and Lia's tutorials should help you heaps, we'll soon be seeing how much you have learned. ;D
