Net-A-Porter Findings...

Right now, I'm sitting outside in the sun on a hot day in Summer (I'm in Australia by the way), lying on the trampoline with my new puppy Zoe (who is happily sleeping) and browsing Net-A-Porter.com.

I have been on Net-A-Porter a lot lately. Trust me, it's a sever addiction and I may need therapy. I just adore the endless amounts of beautiful clothes and because I live in a place that is several hours away from anything high fashion, it's just so convenient.

So I'm here to show you a a few of my favourite pieces! Starting with these two gorgeous dress by Red Valentino:

Some diamond studded shoes from Miu Miu...

A Sonia by Sonia Rykiel top and dress...

And finally...

Look at those shoes by Alaïa! I'm not quite sure about the style, but I adore the pattern!

What do you think?

Non-ss posing tip!

This tip is thanks to the lovely non ss model Rockinellee.

So this tip is to use flags from small world, that are pretty plain.
I chose to use this flag.

What you do is make your pose, and cover up the extras as if you were using blank tile, like this:

And then you put the clothes on and cover up all the red showing with extra flags, so that it looks like this:

Well as you can see, I ended up covering the legs in the process, but thanks to our favorite tights (from the last 2 tutorials) we can just add legs. Hehe (: So then you just add a few items, and voila!

I went for kind of a winter theme, cause it’s CHRISTMAS! At least it still is here (: So Merry Christmas everyone, and I hope this helped! It’s was certainly a useful tip to me! Much easier than using clothing.

Till next time!

Christmas Is Upon Us...

So the Christmas holidays are upon us! Right now in Australia it's Christmas Eve and nearly midday. Only twelve hours to Christmas day. The time zones are a bit strange, don't you think? While I am celebrating Christmas tomorrow everyone in the USA or Europe will still be having Christmas Eve. And when it is Boxing day for me, it is still Christmas for everyone else. :P

Now, I have just decided to mention two things.
Last night the Star Awards had it's big ceremony. I was tempted to go, but lately I have been waking up at around 10-11am and I didn't feel like waking at 5am...

You have probably all seen the winners on the blog, but I just want to congratulate Maggie, Findurlove, for winning the Best Female Medoll Award! Congrats Maggie, we all love you!

Now, second bit of information. Forever Chic Magazine published it Winter 2010/11 issue the other day. I wouldn't be posting this if it weren't important, but the magazine has improved heaps graphic wise since it's last issue!

Loved it! What do you think? Read the rest of the issue here.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year, that you all stay safe and have heaps of fun!

I'm off to go say Merry Christmas to all my friends on stardoll!

Love,

Non superstar posing tutorial

Having been a ss for as long as I’ve been posing, I’ve never had to deal with the difficulties of posing with out tiles. Non-ss posing is so much harder then ss posing, because you either have to use items that have a pattern on it, or clothing.

For this tutorial I chose to use clothing. The item of clothing I chose may look familiar to you because I used it in the last tutorial I did. It’s these:

So what you do is start by making them as big as possible to cover the background, like this:

When you’re done it should look like this:

A perfect black background.

Since non ss posing is more difficult I am going to do a more simple post then  usual. If I get more comfortable with non ss posing, I my try to do something more complex.
So I started off with adding this part of the arm, and I was lucky enough that by putting it far enough back a lot of the extra parts were covered.

So then I added the second part of the arm and it looked like this:

Now the challenging part begins, covering up the extras. When using clothes to cover up extra parts one must be very careful. The clothing likes to snap into place. However this can be used to your advantage. If you snap clothing onto a part that you want covered up, it works quite well. However you must be careful that it’s not covering up a part that you do need. So this is what it looked like when I was done covering up the extra parts:

Not very good huh. Well, I have newly gained respect for non-ss models, it is very challenging.
So now I just have to add clothes and a few background items. And voila!

Well that was way more challenging than I expected…

Are you a non ss aspiring model?  Did this help you?

What kind of tutorial should I do next?

Classique Awards!

A new awards show has hit and will hopefully be making a splash! It goes by the name of The Classique Awards and I really like the sound of them.

Owned by To_Royal it has some interesting categories. I like them most because they are not the usual (and boring) "Best Medoll", "Best Suite" etc. Instead she has taken the time to make new names such as "The Haute Couture (Female)", "The Entrepreneur" and "The Risque". There are a lot more catorgories than this, so go check out the blog, here!

While we are on the topic of award shows, what happened to The Star Awards? Wasn't the ceremony meant to be this week?

Gemma Ward

Well hello there,
Its no secret that I love Australians - which is evident even here on Editorialized, Kylie is Australian and I love her - and there is no way you can not love a talented model/actress from Australia!

Gemma Ward is a 24 year old Australian model and actress that rocked the runway of famous labels such as but not limited to Yves-Saint-Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Burberry. She has also been seen on covers of Vogue, Numero, Teen Vogue etc... She is considered one of the ''It girls'' in modeling...

However, recently she has taken a break to pursue acting, hang out with friends and family and just be a normal girl without walking the runway or taking anymore snap shots. As Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom exit Pirates of the Caribbean, Gemma enters for the ultra fabulous 4th movie of Pirates of the Caribbean!

In the movie she plays the role of a mermaid, and I certainly would LOVE to check the movie out, but unfortunately, I cannot wait that long! I guess I will be adding Pirates of the Caribbean to the ''MUST-WATCH'' list back at home!

The list so far:
1- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Pt. 2)
2- Kung-Fu Panda 2 (I know, childish, but I LOVED the trailer!)
3- Pirates of the Caribbean 4

Snap-shot from the trailer

Christmas Makeover!

Hey everyone,

sorry for not posting as much as I want, but I have been busy organizing RAGE magazine, which I hope to release in January!

Anyways, I decided to give this blog a bit of a Christmas makeover. What do you think? I think that that the blue is a nice change from the green.

And for you to devour with your fashion hungry eyes, here's a  shot photographed by Niko Menu from here.

This blog is severly lacking in fashion editorials I think. :P

Have a good holiday!

Aspiring Model?

I've been rather board on stardoll lately, and then I realized the reason: many stardoll modeling competitions are in between cycles! But you know what that means?!? AUDITION TIME!

That's right, if you're looking for some good modeling competitions to enter I have a whole list of them:

The first is the ever popular: MelsModels
with an exciting twist in which old contestants are allowed to compete again! It's sure to be one of the most exciting cycles yet! Already over 100 people have auditioned! But keep in mind this competition is not for the faint hearted. If you think you have what it takes, go audition now!

The next is SNTM.XX
I have already talked briefly about thing during my interview with itgonnarain, but here I am talking about it again (: Maybe that's only because I won the last cycle (: I think this is a very good competition to compete in if you don't think you are quite ready  for MelsModels, but still want some high level competition. It's also good for those hopping to eventually be good enough for MelsModels because some of the judges are the same, and it helps you get to know them, and what they are looking for in sceneries.

And now for VanityModels
Vanity Models is Owned by one of our very own writes findurlove! It just finished it's second cycle yesterday, and it's winner was the lovely Brumilicious
I mean isn't that scenery gorgeous?
The runner up as Missricopenguin, our amazing Editorialized owner! I think they both deserve a CONGRATULATIONS!
Well cycle 3 auditions have been going on for a while now and over 100 people applied! If you have talent like the above scenery--go apply!

The last competition I'm going to post about is RENTM
It stands for Rockinellee's next top model, and it's brand spanking new (: I'm a judge for it, and I'd love to see some familiar faces (: It's less competitive than the modeling competition above, and is most likely best for intermediate models (beginners and advanced are always welcome though). Here is a sample of RockinEllee's work:

beautiful right?

Well now I'll end this post with a scenery of mine (: I did not do a tutorial though because I honestly was just playing around with poses when I started. Hit or miss?

Useful information? What do you think of the sceneries?

Fashionable Christmas

Thoughtful Gift

Thank you for the lovely gift;
You didn’t have to do it.
You have a good and gracious heart,
But then, I always knew it.

I love this, and I think of you
With fondness and with pleasure;
The gift is great, but even more,
It’s your thoughtfulness I treasure.

By Joanna Fuchs

As you run your delicately manicured hands along the edges of the flimsy shiny wrapping paper, and twirl the soft satin ribbons in between your fingers, there's this feeling within you dying to know what's inside the box.

Yet, there's a part of you that aches to tear through that wonderfully wrapped package... as it is so beautiful on its own.

Ahhh... the joy of receiving gifts.

How I wish I can relive that feeling over and over again.

Of course, there's nothing more blood pumping than to receive a gift from someone unexpected... much more to receive something you truly truly wanted and had secretly wished for.

In the spirit of giving (in a virtual world). I have asked some of your favorite Stardoll personalities on what's that one thing they want to get this Holiday Season.

...as I was doing this post, I realized I want those too.

And I know you would as well. *wink*

For our very own MDM hottie, BrunoExclusive, he want's to get something that will stay true to his fashion sense.

A big, fluffy navy blue shirt and a nice low waisted (and he wants it really LOW guys) pair of jeans.

These distressed, illegaly low jeans from American Eagle will surely complete his Holiday wish list this season.

PSG Prime Blogger Baya Nicolas
on the other hand, wants something more with understated class... Something that reflects who she is.

For this season, Baya has her eye on this DKNY Glitz Black Mesh Bracelet Rectangular Timepiece.

Being fashionably late is a thing of the past. With this amazing piece of accessory, she will always be fashionably on time.

Fellow EditorializedSD fashion extraordinaire Zoe_COUTURE will be turning more heads one of these days.

Well, who wouldn't do a second look if you are carrying this Alexander McQueen Novak Bag?

Uber Chic!

MDM Sweetheart Bubblyminty
will be making someone else fashionable this year...

And giving all the love she can give to her Teacup Pomeranian.

So very Paris Hilton!

Less the obnoxiousness.

Haute Diva Undamyumbrellla
will be going with something more versatile this season.

These Miu Miu detachable collars from the Spring 2008 and Spring 2010 Collections will be the King Midas of fashion and will turn anything paired with it into haute gold.

Minimum effort. Maximum impact.
The name is Kasia. :)

Now what is Pink, ruffled and fiercely chic on the Runway this season?

This Ruffle Cocktail Dress from Burberry Prorsum of course!

And this has got MDM & EditorializedSD sister Findurlove plastered all over it.

Maggie will be quite a vision in these I am sure, ala Reese Witherspoon in that Glamour Magazine cover.

The epitome of controversy herself. Miss_LolitaF was not able to give me a definite answer  on what she really wants...

But I just know she will love this number from Alexander McQueen.

Avante-Gardely breathe taking is the best way to describe this masterpiece.

So if Lolita won't take this, just give me a heads up and I would. :D

For my soul sister's wish, I need not ask.

Isabella.Arci won't be over these ultra fab key charm necklace from no other than Tiffany & Co. until the next holiday season.

This is luxury at it's best and Isabella deserves all the best indeed.

...on second thought, I might just want these for myself instead. LOL!

Finally, EditorializedSD's head honcho Missricopenguin will need something to travel with by 2011.

Nothing can be more perfect than this Bottega Veneta weaved leather purple handbag!
This is the renaissance of luxury carrying all her necesities while on her trip.

This bag is the perfect companion for that jet setter in all of us.

How about you?

What's on your list?

xoxo

Posing Tips

Hello,

I'm glad everyone seems to be enjoying my tutorials, however they're quite complex and so I though it best that I give everyone some basic tips (:

The first tip is how to make your pose look right. As I said in my first tutorial, one of the easiest ways to make sure your pose will look right is to have a picture. However it you don't have a picture the next best thing to do is try the pose out yourself. The next thing to check while doing a pose is to see if your joints line up. The only place your medoll should be bending at is the joins. As you can see below on the far left image I have circled most of the joints. These are the only places your me doll should bend. However it is a tad difficult to find the elbows sometimes so I have shown below that you can see that they go in a little on the out side. When posing you must line up the joints. As you can see in the middle picture that's exactly what I did. And in the far right picture is the finished product.
But wait! There are some very important steps between the middle picture above and the finished product. And that is rounding off the edges. For example take the first image below. You could poke an eye out with that knee and elbow! But if you look at the middle image it;s far too flat. So what you need to do is use those extra few tiles to make it round (:

Hope this helps! I'm thinking for my next tutorial I will do posing for non ss (: how does that sound?

It's Gonna Be All The RAGE!

In all my time on stardoll, there is one thing I have always wanted to do.

Start and own a magazine.

Which is why, right now, I have decided to pursue this dream. RAGE Magazine is going to be fun, different and most of all,  fashionable.

I am super excited about this, I already have the cover planned out, a few fashion editorials and a fair idea of who I want to be covergirl...

Anyways, the blog is ragemagazinesd.blogspot.com, there are a couple writers postions, graphic designer and a creative director open.

I hope to have the first issue finished in January!
